Dot Com and World’s Credit Crisis

Prior to this article, I wrote an article on how safe is the Dot Com with this crisis the world market is facing. Now I can see that this credit crisis has a lot to do with Dot Com Business in a way I can’t define. It will definitely affect the revenues of the Dot Com Businesses.

Those who make their living online need to consider this post very important because you may not know how this crisis might affect your business. I was just trying to see if I could get an answer to the question I posted last on this blog when I got a direct answer from problogger. The post was exactly tips you can use to shield yourself from the effect of this recession.

  1. Focus upon Content
    As we know Content is King, during times like this people go online to find more information that will improve their lives. As an active blogger you need to write creative posts on how to help people improve their lives. It will do your blog good.
  2. Build Networks
    Here your social networks come in; your network is the best tool you can use during this time of recession. Going into partnership with another blogger will also help.
  3. Don’t Panic
    If you are in any hard situation, panicking will not help you out; it will only make things more complicated for you. Don’t panic; take your time to find a solution.
  4. Build Your Own Products/Services
    Are paid advertisement not coming in? Then, place one for yourself. Why waste the advertisement space when you can advertise your own product on your blog.
  5. Build Authority
    Time build a brand or name in your niche. People look for leadership in times like this, so as a blogger, you need to make a mark in your field.
  6. Backup
    Virtually everything needs a backup not excluding your data online. What if your host decided to go under, what will happen to your data? This is the best time do a backup.
  7. Diversify Your Income
    If you’ve been making money on your blog via paid advertising, in recession times, one needs to diversify income streams. Like trying out affiliate programs will help a lot.
  8. Look for Opportunities in the Negative
    In hard times, some companies go under while some stay. You have to position yourself in companies that stay and that are making progress so as to withstand the economic downturn.

    The best time to enter a market is when in recession. It does not only applies to economics but also here; in recession times you try as much as possible to improve your blog so as to make it better.

    It has nothing to its name except that you track. Track how your blog I doing in the market. Track your subscriber, your readers and visitors.

    Works never ends on an active blog. You need to keep working on your blog to keep it alive. Don’t try to please everybody, just focus on the theme your blog is all about

    I won’t talk much on this. Just cut down your expense so as to increase your earning margin or better still get more value for the same cost you’ve been spending.
  13. Experiment with Income Streams
    Test different streams of income on your blog. Those income streams you think can’t work out might now be performing. Don’t leave anything out.
